I was studying, and diligently doing as I promised and getting my own runner out. sigh. such a bad hostess. I have to write up the other swap and send it in. There's wording changes so I gotta figure out how to word this. Mostly I was studying. There is a lot to remember in phlebotomy! hehe.

Looking forward to the next swap theme - this has been a fun swap; thanks to all the participants; if we didn't post/ chatter/share photos and everyday lives it just wouldn't be the same. We love the apple pie themed table topper that we received - it's still being used on our dining room table until the end of this month, it will then will be switch out to a fabulous heart themed table runner that jaba Jan sent in my secret pal package this month; I just love valentines.

Sun is shining this morning - temps are sub zero and it's a great day - Happy Tuesday everyone!!!

Oh here I stalk my mailbox in hopes that I might receive something pretty in there but yet again another day of nothing but bills. Maybe tomorrow I might get lucky. I'll keep stalking that mailbox 'til to it bears the fruits of my watching.

I got a runner in the mail today! Neener! Neener! Neener! Kiffie2413 did an amazing job! I'm so excited to have this in my house! Thank you so much! The center of each is a yo-yo with a button on it so it looks like a hat. And, it's reversible, so it will get lots and lots of use!!

I am so happy you like it...I have to confess I agonized over that backing...and actually had a solid green on it 1st, and had it mostly quilted...then I just did not like that green...My "quilty sisters" at my quilt group are always telling me to quit being so safe, and to try some patterns, etc on the back (even solid green was a big step for me, as I am a long time handquilter, and used muslin all the time..) So, I took out the stitching and changed the backing. Also my beloved sewing machine went "kaput" right before Christmas, and I hadn't finished the runner...I was frantic...but it all worked out.. as when my machine broke, dh knew I had been salivating over the Janome Horizon 7700...and he told me to quit dreaming about it and buy it already!!...Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday, Anniversary, etc..So, I took him up on it and bought it!! Haven't even had a chance to try it out yet tho...but I sure hope with it I can finally get fmq down better...I always revert back to hand quilting and 1/8" away from seam quilting...I also have a Grace machine frame that I have never tried...I use it to "hold" fabrics after I iron them...bad, bad Kif!!!
Anyways, hope the backing is not too "loud" for you! I never even thought of the yoyos with the buttons looking like hats..but they do resemble tams/ski hats with the button on top...Oops, I meant to say, yes, I totally intended those yoyos to look like hats, yep, sure did...LOL...
    Regards,
    K
aka no longer boring with my muslin backing self...

Kiffie, I'm a rather "loud" person anyway, so there's no way that this is too much for me. Have you seen the placemats I have on my dining room table!?
