Got the pattern, got the fabric, now to FINALLY get started. Sorry to my secret pal that yours will be Jan before you get it, busy time of the year. so glad we had till Jan. to get them finished and mailed out.

On another note, I had weight loss surgery the end of August, ans have since lost 40 lbs. I feel well enough now to have started a Hooping class.... hula hooping, at the YMCA. Not like the kind we used as kids either ...these are MUCH BIGGER but only weigh 1.2 lbs. Talking about S-O-R-E! LOL Lord willing I will be able to keep at it and it do me some good! LOL

Nancia how is the design progress going for you? did you pick your fabrics yet?

If I havent mentioned before go to the boom Rubys forum and its on the last two pages I think? There are posted pictures of this quilt block that was done called a Fractured quilt. The fabric was great the block came out amazing. It has 169 pieces and is 13 inches. WOW. Now that would make a wonderful table runner which I would immediately frame if your looking for fun things to do with 100 hours per item. Its really pretty and I hope you check it out!

Sorry I've been MIA for a few days. A very dear friend was on leave and going back to Afghanistan yesterday, so I wanted to spend a little time with him while I could. He's been sick the entire 4 weeks he's been home, and was told Thursday that he has pneumonia again. They're going to probably quarantine him in Kabul until he's better, so he won't come down with something else.

So, with him leaving yesterday morning, I spent some time on my runner. I'd been wanting to figure out a way for the back to be as useful year around as the front was for winter. Then yesterday morning, it came to me. I used the same non-wintery applique shapes I used on the front on the back, but with non-wintery fabrics. I've kept it simpler than the front, but I got all the applique done yesterday before I had to cook chicken parm meatballs for the boyfriend's work Christmas party last night. (His grad students inhaled them, so I'm not sure if they were actually good or not, lol!) Anyway, I'm trying to decide whether to cut the fabric back a touch and use 2 rows of border or just the 3-1/2" strip to match the outside border on the front. Quilting it is going to be interesting. I'm thinking of quilting the inside details of the front before I attach the back, then quilting it all together just around the outside border(s). I can't ever do anything real simple, lol. This is my first attempt at applique, and I'm happier with some parts than others. I hope my partner likes it though!

I am going to try to finish up my runner this weekend and get it shipped west on Monday. Then I have 10 mug rugs to make, which I haven't decided on a design for yet. I've got to get them done before next Friday.

Oh, to my partner, whoever you are.....I'll be out of the country for Christmas (12/19-12/29), so if you'll be unable to ship mine to be delivered before I leave, the pressure is off until after Christmas.

That should read Love Sparkles. Was on my "not so smart" phone. Ha Ha! Still looking at my material trying to decide how to put it together to make something GREAT! Sadly, It will prob not go out before Christmas. Been too busy with Christmas stuff. We do Christmas as a family on Christmas Eve. That way the kids can have Christmas morning at home with no pressure to leave. Usually, DH and I get bored so we make the rounds to their homes through the course of the day. Keep on keeping on!!! I just LOVE the holidays. All of them.

    YEA!!!!!!! HAPPY DANCE
Thank you Mary for the awesome apple table topper, it's perfect for our house, computer pictures just don't do it justice - the colors are much better in person. Mary also included a couple of mug rugs - I'll post pictures later; still have lefse to fry - burned out the electrical outlet yesterday so had to stop early; thank goodness Jackie's Jay is an electrician and was able to come by this morning to replace the outlet so it's good to go.

My topper is getting picked up today (if the mailman can trudge through the snow). WHO ORDERED 2' of snow? It got mis-delivered to Montana. Feel free to come and get it - I have things to do that involve going outside.
