Ok groupies this is what I made for Quilter momma I sent it and she has graciously received it. I am posting a pic so you can see what I worked up. I almost flopped on the floor and kicked my feet I had just mailed this to her when Loup posted something to the extent of sparkles who likes them and there were yes! yes! yes! then a I am not particularly fond of sparkly fabric.. I had sent a sparkly tablerunner. So Beth I am SOOO sorry I had no idea honest! I am glad you have a place it can be used. I will never ever make you sparkly things again forgive me?? I don't embroider either - guess I'm going to have to do some creative thinking to see what I can come up with - any suggestions?

brat-- i guess you had her confused with me! i LOVE sparklies and glitter and bling! Glam it up!! no such thing as too much! lolololol
labels are important. how they are made is not. i generally put a patch of fabric and either have used the letters on my dsm, or i write with a micron prisma pen. (it's at ja's in colors, and is permanent. ) that YOU made it, for whom and when are all important bits of info. i usually title things like quilts and wall hangings. since this is my first table topper, i'm not sure if it will be named or not.

Well I think I'm going to Joann's today (it's 45 min away) with a friend to get a gift for her grandmother that she hadn't been able to find locally. I'll look and see what they have for things like this. I guess shipping mine will wait another day. (Sorry partner!)

Pretty runner "brat", love those blues in it. Just remembered what I use to do if I had a runner or quilt that was 2 sided and didn't want to put a "tag" on it. I covered a piece of cardstock with fabric and wrote on it and just attached it to the piece with a little safety pin. Don't think I marked mine this time because I made it reversible with a spring floral on the back. Just an idea I just now remembered, day late and a dollar short as usual. oops

I got some tags at Joann & I'm going to at least put my name and the year. I'm debating whether to do it in permanent marker or try to stitch it by hand though. I'll put it on a piece of coordinating fabric and then stitch it to it, maybe like an applique or something like that. Why be normal, right?

I have tags that I ordered that say 'Handmade by' and have my real name and my etsy website. I'll attach that to the back, and maybe add the year.

Nancia I knew it was you I should have been blinging with!!! Somehow you do make me think of bling when I read your postings I am watching the snow come down but it wont last. Pretty though those big old fat dry snow flakes they are marvelous from inside the house. All those Christmas trees outside my window wearing a coating of white and it just softens the forest .. love the look. Fear the reality however. I did see some pretty quilting labels on ebay. I personally dont care for them. If I put a lot of time into something i dont want it ruined by me with pens and labels. I do think the write them on a pretty tag and pin it to the item is a good idea. I apologize to everyone. I just have that thing about labeling. If its glittery, smiling at you or you have to close one good eye and think what the heck were they thinking you will then have to say oh yeah Le BRAT sent me that.. and see never needed a label afterall. I am considering those small custom tags like they used to make a zillion years ago sewn by.... about 1/2 inch high maybe 2 inchs long little things.. that is what I might consider but then again.. ugh a label. the old their is a chair for every ....rear. we all like something different. now who wants to go outside and make me a snowman? (locals never make snowmen). I wouldnt mind one however if you made it for me

Brat - I didn't want the huge labels either. I don't want a big chunk of my quilt covered up with my info! So I stuck with 2.75" by 5/8". They have my basic info, and a paw print for my 'logo'. They will go on anything I make, whether it's to sell or as a gift.

As a side note - Do you guys wrap your quilts when you gift them? I didn't... I just folded my baby quilts pretty, put some matching ribbon on the (like you would a present) and called it good. The babies are too young to unwrap, and the blankets themselves look so pretty all folded up like that!

Brat, I was just thinking.. since it's warm and slightly melty today, that if I get done with my paper, I was gonna go make a freaking snowman for my dog to have fun peeing on. Maybe I'll do that later tonight when i go to let him out
