    ctyankee,
Thanks for clarifying. As even though swaps are set up that way, there are some who have the item made and don't check with their partner. I'm not trying to cause issues, I just think if I (or anyone) is trying to add a lil personalization (being hospitable, if you will) then I'd like to have the same consideration.
I haven't done the postcard swap in a few months, probably since our dear Brat (man I miss her ornery cheerful humor) hosted it. She always encouraged speaking with our partners. Which I like that idea.
So I hadn't seen "makers choice" or "partners choice" til now.
Thanks again, and thanks for hostessing.

    Regards,
    Kif

    Welcome back, Susan!

Kiffie -- I took over this swap from Linda, who set the rules; I have not changed them. And I do encourage people to communicate with one another. I, too, would like to know more about the person I'm swapping with, but it doesn't always pan out. But since I know people have busy lives, I just roll with it. I also encourage people to talk on this thread, which may be easier for some. I've noticed on other threads that that is not necessarily received so well. Perhaps it's just the mix of personalities. Well, it is what it is., & we can only do our best. I try to make this a place where people want to come back!

I have an idea! Why don't we make a short list of our likes/dislikes? Then maybe we can pick up new information on our partners. I will start:

    1. Favorite color: green, but love all colors (except peach)
    2. Favorite food: cheeseburgers & pizza
    3. Favorite time of day: morning
    4. Favorite zoo animal: zebra
    5. Favorite vacation: camping outdoors
    6. Are you a cat person or a dog person (pick only one): cat person (but I love my dog, too)
    7. What country would you like to visit? Kenya
    8. What type of TV shows do you like: medical dramas
    9. How many children do you have? 2
    10. When did you start quilting? 1980

Okay, that's more than a few! And I didn't include any dislikes, either! Anybody want to join in & answer those questions? (You can do it!)

That sounds wonderful, Terriamn! I've never been to Portugal myself, but it sounds closer than Kenya! I know Kenya is just a dream, but a very pleasant one.

There's a question I forgot to put in -- what other hobbies you have. That makes 11 questions.

    11. I love to read (never leave home without my Kindle), knit, walk/hike, & garden.
