Betty I am looking forward to your card! I saw a great design today - and it changed my idea a bit & will start this weekend. I must start soon because my idea keeps shapeshifting. Can't wait to see everyone's cards again this month: little reminders that life is beautiful.

I laughed at myself today: about to put the binding on for the final finish to my "practice-quilting potholder" and realized I had forgotten the 'quilting' part. All the piecing on both sides done, bias strips sewn for binding, began to pin the binding around the edge and stopped. Something was missing...

I have finished the table cloth for the cake table, several table runners and the ribbon rose posies to be tied onto the cake bags. The table cloth is a 36 x 36 store bought cloth that I embroidered with roses. the table runners are pink organza and will be put onto white table cloths on the tables and I have made the 240 ribbon roses and then assembled them into 80 posies for the white organza (store bought) cake bags. All this is for my Mum's 90th birthday celebration that will be next Saturday. We will be travelling up to Rockhampton this week and my three sisters and I are self catering for this occasion. I have made some apricot balls and rum balls, these will travel the 13 hour trip. These are normally made for Christmas and special occasions. My sisters are cooking cakes and slices and we will do sandwiches and savouries once I arrive. We are hosting an afternoon tea for Mum. There will be approximately 80 guests and my two cousins who are accomplished pianists will provide the music for the occasion.

Betty J -- your work is beautiful. And quite the occasion! So wonderful! My MIL in Ireland lived to be 105.

Oh my, Betty! That sounds like it is going to be a wonderful affair. I can see how much you honor and love your mom. Your table cloth is gorgeous.

Betty, such beautiful work. everyone will have a fantastic time!! Save us a bite of that cake.
Sue, it takes as long to get to S carolina as it does to get to Dotty in NYC. amazing isn't it.
I think the PC's take extra long because they are pretty and everyone wants to see them and pass them around
for all to see. Mine went out yesterday, so Dotty should get it on Monday. If not. I'll start to worry about it.
Everyone, have a fantastic weekend.

I think I know what I'm going to do for my postcard now. I have several different drawings I made & I really like them all ... but I think I've picked out the one I want to make. I will see how I feel about it when it's made. Now to sew ...
