I laughed when I saw this In Scotland we have an odd looking brown sweet (candy) which is called a ‘Lucky Tattie’ and is dusted with flavoured cinnamon.

‘Tatties’ are Scottish slang for potatoes. When I was a child, they had a tiny plastic toy hidden in them, but have since been banned (the toy, not the sweet, lol). People I've met from other parts of Scotland tell me that their tatties sometimes had a sixpence (coin) hidden in them so were particularly prized. Probably called ‘Lucky’, because you were probably lucky you didn't choke to death or break a tooth, lol!

They're not widely commercially made nowadays, so when I find them I buy them for the SP swap. One will be arriving Stateside soon

    buttonsgrown,

It was my pleasure! Ok so yesterday I went to see Jenny Doan of the Missouri Star Quilt Co. and let me say it was such a wonderful time! The trunk show was exciting with a lot of the quilts she showed and then in the afternoon she taught us to make the disappearing pinwheel that was featured in the first magazine of Quilting Quickly when she had Fons and Porter. Let me say she is such a joy to have around. She's funny, hilarious, passionate about quilting/sewing and has a wonderful family. Her husband came with her and helped her so much showing the quilts. They will be celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary this week and she had forgotten! LOL! We gave her the biggest standing ovation and let me say she deserves it. What she has earned has gone back to her community of Hamilton and the town is flourishing. She signed my BLOCK magazine (1st edition 2nd one on its way) and a poster as well she signed for everyone there. And yes I did have a photo taken with her and I will post it here soon as soon as I find my phone cable to connect it to the internet. If Jenny Doan ever comes to your town or close to it, indulge yourself because you will not regret it. I never laughed so hard with her and over 125 ladies that came to see her at the lqs store in Naples called Flash Sew and Quilt. If you have facebook (I don't) you can look them up and find the photos of the event dated yesterday 4/16/14. Again I'll post some pics as soon as I find my cable. BTW wonderful pkgs coming in!
