Since I had never participated in a swap of this type, I thought that once sign-up was complete, there would be little/no activity until packages started arriving. I never checked this thread until my package arrived.

I was AMAZED to find 68 pages of messages when I checked in to thank my SP for the incredible package I received. I did immediately PM Suzanne, post a "thank you" and pic's on the thread, and send a PM to my wonderful SP, Zappycat.

I certainly agree that we should all say thank you to our SPs and let them know that their time, effort, and money were not for nothing! However I really hope that no one decides to make month-long activity on the SP Thread a requirement. I know I don't always have time for a quiet thought to myself, let alone to keep up with my internet friends and this quilting board. I think it was John Lennon who said "Life is what happens when you are busy making other plans". Let's keep in mind that everyone gets busy some times, and I can't imagine that I am the only one who has been kept away from my pc by things beyond my control.

OK... now that I have that off my chest, I want to stress that I have REALLY LOVED being a part of this swap, and plan to continue participating. Of course, next time, I WILL keep an eye on the thread to see what you are all talking about, doing, etc.
You're not here because you are actually working and finishing projects, Christie.... unlike me!! I have lots of posts, but don't ask me the last time I finished something!! (other than your dragon!!) But it is fun to be here dropping hints, watching people jumping up and down, and waiting with the folks on the bench, too! ; )

I should be on the bench also. But, I ate sooo much this weekend, I need to do some activity. Maybe I'll hop on the bench later.

I have an antique 'needle holder' similar to the one KrystalsQuilts received that was my grandma's.
I received my pkg from CLSURZ (Carol). Thank you so much! The pkg contained five green and yellow prints; a pkg of needles; a lint brush (sorry Carol, I know it was for the sewing machine but I already used it also on my keyboard); and a pkg of Giradelli chocolates. I happened to open this box in front of three little boy grandchildren. So you know that the chocolates are all gone by now, right?

I have tried to post pics using Flickr twice now and have been infected with viruses. Any ideas? I want to show pictures!!

I read a couple of pages ago some posters upset or discouraged about the swap because they do not get thank yous from their swap partners. I was only able to thank my person on the board as she didn't leave me her screen name. Also it was brought up about swappers taking advantage of others by not giving as they have received and that they should be weeded out. It is my opinion that if you feel that you received a package that is not up to par with the others you should contact the swap host and if that person signs up the the next post they should be paired with others who have done the same thing, as we do not have a minimum, only a maximum we can spend. I hope this makes sense and is not offensive to anyone.

That all sounds too sad -as I thought this was to be a fun thing to do. Maybe in the future, it should state that we have to include screen and real name in our pkgs and have a specific amount set instead of maximum. And maybe make some swaps at a lower value and some higher?
