I just love seeing all the packages the are arriving for everyone!! According to tracking, my SP got her's last Friday...hope she liked it! I'm patiently waiting, but I think I'll meet with some of the other ladies and have some of that fresh squeezed lemonade (my most absolute favorite drink) and learn about the secret to those mitered corners!! Heading to bed for now, but will be back bright and early tomorrow!! :)

Handmade gifties from your stash are always a nice addition too...Our LQS always has good prices on patterns in their basement bargain room..some are as low as $1 each...good way to stretch your buck..Threads on sale are a bargain too...Big Lots has some cool deals at time too...just have to check back there often..$1 bins at Joanns and Michaels have some cute items too..note cards, pens, sticky note pads etc.

At WalMart (where I work), when a certain holiday is over, items are clearanced out for as low as 10 to 25 cents. I save these until the next year. LOL Once school begins, most school supplies, pens, pencils, note pads, sticky notes, etc are clearanced out. Also, seasonal items are marked down to almost nothing so they can make room for the new items. That is where I get a lot of my items I use. If you get used to watching pennies in your regular every day life, you can really pack a secret pal package and still stay under the $$$ limit. I find that searching for the bargains makes the SP swap a lot more fun. When our WalMart carried fabric, I was able to really build my stash by just searching for the bargains every day. When they took our fabric out, I went thru a terrible case of "withdrawal". Survival was touch and go for a while. LOL Good Luck

I have a question and please forgive me if I give out too much information in regards to my secret pal..My Pal LOVES to cook and I have a cookbook that was printed in 1976 that than has recipes that are 100 years old..So now, they are over 130 years old..My question is this..Do you think it would be ok to add into her "goodies" that I am sending? I would love to see this book go to someone who enjoys cooking..Its a little well used but in very good shape..I am mailing her package tomorrow morning :)

If I were your SP I would love that cookbook. I love to cook and love new recipes. My sister in-law just brought me out three cookbooks that were her Mom's and what great recipes there are in them.
