Cool Autumn Leaves Block Swap- Sign ups close 9/15/2015

Let's stitch a vibrant collection of colorful autumn leaves!

This swap is for 12.5" unfinished (12" finished) blocks.

Leaf patterns your choice. A few to consider are: maple, sugar maple, sweet gum, oak, etc. Lots to choose from!

Blocks to be in sets of 4. Limit of 6 sets per swapper. Total of 24 blocks. All blocks will be swapped out, so make an extra of each design for yourself, if you so choose.

Each set of 4 should be a same design, but the fabrics may vary. *Limit of 2 sets of any design.* Though do change up the colors for each set. Be creative in your color choices! Autumn is a lovely time of year.

Please do have good contrast with the leaf and the background.

block backgrounds should be in creams, beiges, lights, etc.

This swap is open to all skill levels.

Be sure to use quality PRE-WASHED 100% cotton fabrics. (NO flannel, homespun, poly-blends, or see-through)

Blocks can be made using traditional piecing, paper piecing, embroidered, appliqued, or combinations thereof.
(If using applique, all pieces must be sewn down in some manner. Please do not use mono-filament thread.)

Please check to make sure your blocks ARE 12.5" square. Please also check for any holes or tears, or inadequate seam allowances. Tidy up the back of block as well.
*If your blocks are too small, they may have to be returned to you unswapped.*

Please, please do make sure that there is an adequate 1/4" seam allowance on your block edges, and that your leaf points do not get lopped off.

Put a small label on each block, including your real name and board name.

For Mailing: please put blocks in a large ziploc baggie along with your name and address on/in the bag. This will help protect your blocks in case your package gets damaged.
Include a USPS money order or cash for $6.10 to cover return postage to you. Blocks will be sent in padded priority flat rate envelopes, with Delivery Confirmation. I get these envelopes free from usps.com.
If proper postage is not sent, your package will wait until adequate funds are received. Please do not send your own envelopes.

Sign ups are open until Sept. 10th, 2015. Blocks need to be TO ME by Sept. 25th, 2015.

Please send me a PM to sign up, so I don't miss you. If you know how many sets you will be sending in, that would be nice to know too!

Basic swap rules may be found here: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-20154-1.htm

Some block ideas may be found at: www.quilterscache.com, on Pinterest, piecebynumber.com, generations-quilt-patterns.com, equiltpatterns.com, or many other internet sites. Please ask if you need help.

Come and join in with us!

    **Here are a few sites:

*Quiterscache.com- has Maple Leaf, Ozark Maple Leaf, Sweet Gum Leaf, and the Cactus Flower would work if you use a leaf color for that center triangle.

*Generations-quilt-patterns.com- has autumn leaf, maple leaf, maple leaf design, ozark maple leaf, leaf & diamonds.

*dottypat.com- has 3 leaf ones to consider.

    *carterquilter.wordpress.com- (don't recall which patterns!)

    *terryaskeartquilts.com- has a paper-pieced japanese maple block-fun!

*Do Google "leaf quilt block free patterns" and you can look at a bunch of images of all kinds of beauties!

Just wondering here again.... Is the background tan, beiges and lights? It would unify the quilt once they are all set.

*The pretty autumn leaf pattern at generations-quilt-patterns.com is a 10.5" unfinished block. But a small border can be added around to make it a 12.5" block~~

    Here's a fun quilt to peek at~

Fall is my favorite season, as well as the colors for fall. I would like to join this swap as well.
