My set of 12 Batik blocks are winging their way to Norbanaquilts via the United States Post Office. I know I'm really, really early, but one of my DDs just asked me to make a Library Quilt (four shelves of books with embroidered titles) for her school librarian who is retiring in MAY - yes - MAY! So, I thought I'd better send off my Batiks before I lost them among the fabrics for the books.

I thought choosing the fabrics would be the hardest part too... but having never worked with batiks before, boy are they a pain to prewash! The dye just keeps bleeding out. Good thing I had this forum to search for tips on. Vinegar in the water seems to help some.

Or you can use "ColorCatcher" by Shout when you wash your fabric.
