It is a funny name! :)
I got it from a Judy Martin book called "Scraps Blocks and Quilts" or something like that.

My block that I mailed last Friday...is a "Fancy Spool". It is one of my favorite blocks to make. If I don't have to go to our houseboat this weekend with hubby I am going to try to get another set of 12 made...that will be "Yankee Puzzle" since we have so many folks here from the North...LOL.

Thanks, Kherrin. I haven't received it yet, but will post a message on the activity page when it arrives.

Your pretty windmill block is on page 12. I Like that one too. I can't think of any blocks I've seen so far that aren't beautiful.
Thank you and I agree...All the blocks are beautiful!!

You folks probably think I'm obsessed here, but remember, I did tell you upfront that I LOVE batiks.

I can't wait to make a quilt out of these blocks and I've already decided I will assemble mine as a 4 x 4 block quilt with sashing and borders. So, since I needed four more blocks, I have been playing some more and here's what I've come up with.

All of these are from Quilterscache and clockwise from upper left, they are California, Card Trick, Wild Waves and Morning Stars.

I fear that this quilt will soon grow to a 5 x 5! I can't seem to stop.

Thanks. I think the fabrics provide the beauty and are spectacular no matter what you do with them.

Once you start buying batiks....you will never go back! EVERY time I go into a fabric store, I tell myself: 'I WILL NOT buy batiks this time' It fails every time!
My only exception is that now that I will have my 1st grandbaby in Oct, I have been buying baby fabric :) But then I have also been eyeing the batik flannels they have now, which would make a fabulous a baby quilt, right??
