I'm in! I can't figure out where else to sign up. Put me in for 12 blocks but I may increase. I will do Geese all around from Quilters Cache.

Thanks, Mish. I must confess I found the Card Trick difficult to assemble. It looks very simple, but I guess there's a reason it's called a "trick." I've always admired the block also, but have never made one before.
Thanks, Claudia. I'll check it out.

Ladies, if you can get your hands on the Quilt in a Day book by Eleanor Burns called Card Trick all the mystery on assembly will be over. She has the easiest and most foolproof method. I know I made two quilts from her pattern.
    Your blocks are wonderful.

I also have a easy way of putting it together. In fact..I just made one tonight for one of my other swaps.
I have been admiring the card-trick block too. I want to do one, but I need the easy way to begin. lol If you want to share your process, I would love to learn from you. :-)

    Card Trick instructions:
You need 3 colors---Cut from each fabric----1- 5 1/4" square, cut on both diagonals---2- 4 7/8" square, cut in half diagonally----Then just follow the diagram to piece.

I also looked on the quilterscache.com and there instructions are easy also. But the top instructions is how I learned.

    Hope this helps.

Not a problem...I hope it makes sense and that it works out for whoever uses it.

    Hi Everyone:
At our quilt group this month we learned how to do a reverse applique which I'm having a ton of fun with. My question?

I am signed up for the Batik exchange so want to make sure I do what I'm suppose to do as this is the first swap I've done. My question:

I would LOVE to do a reverse applique block with the batik but I could not find plain or even marbled black batik in any of the stores I shopped in to find the batik fabrics I'm using. I went to every WalMart within 100 miles from us, I went to quilt shops (3), JoAnn Fabrics, Fabricland and Mill Ends Fabric store but none of them had the black so I decided to use just plain black cotton. Would you Batik lovers feel cheated if I made my blocks with this black cotton? I can find another pattern to make my Batik blocks using all Batik but I love this reverse applique and I love the blocks, too. Please be honest in your opinion so I can decide what I will do. Thank you so much.
