Hello birthday girls! You are a chatty bunch this time around and I haven't been able to keep up! You've got a fun thread this year.
Moonrise, I just wanted to say how much I like how you are keeping up with your birthday candies by sewing them up as you get them. Very cool idea! Your quilt will be a lovely friendship quilt.
Rock on, Ladies! (no pun intended! LOL)

I received candies today from nelco only 2 more to go.
I have them all laid out ready to sew as I have time. Had to change my pattern was not working. So it looks like I will be doing two quilts. One will be all scrappy with left over from everyone's candies and one like Moonrise is doing. Thank you Moonrise for sharing your block ( Have always wanted to do this pattern.) It will be my friendship Quilt from all of you.

I've been putting the unopened candy squishies in a bag, and reaching in and drawing one at random to make the blocks. As far as making the blocks as the squishies arrive, I'm way behind! LOL!

For those of you wanting to paint some rocks, DH found some NICE ones at Home Depot this morning. They're called Mexican Beach Pebbles, and they average 2-3" across. Nicely-shaped, smooth, and best of all: no waxy coating!

As far as paint, I'm using the $.50-per-bottle Apple Barrel craft paints from Walmart. A base coat of white really makes the colors pop. For paint pens, I've tried oil-based Sharpies, DecoArt glass paint pens, and Posca paint pens. Posca Extra Fine Point pens are the best I've found BY FAR, with nice sharp tips and very consistent paint flow. Oil-based Sharpies are the worst (first they leak, then they refuse to write at all). DecoArt pens are okay, but they don't have as fine a line as I want, and they can be a little stubborn about writing. For sealer, I'm using Ceramcoat Delta Creative Matte Exterior/Interior Varnish. A heat gun, like for using with embossing powders, dries the paint in seconds, so you don't have to wait between coats.

Thanks Barb, I finally got the picture, it's been traced and is on my kitchen table ready to be worked on. I'll send a picture of my finished April hopefully this afternoon.

I love the painted rock idea! I've made oodles of "prayer rocks ". (You put it under your pillow, and when you bump your head in it at night, you remember to say your prayers.) I buy palm size rocks at landscape shops. I always wish I were by a nice river and I'd collect smooth rocks for free. ![Big Grin](https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/biggrin.png)
I saw a 5" Pink charm swap posted. Is this the one all y'all are talking about?![Big Grin](https://cdn.quiltingboard.com/images/smilies/biggrin.png)
I'm still working on my May embroidery for our Quilt Along. I'm trying out different stitches.
