639, to be exact! I didn't use a pattern so there was no pattern to adjust... Just sewed 9 candies together and measured to see that they were 6.5" blocks. So I made all the HSTs and V blocks 6.5" also and everything came out fine.

I got it put together the other day... all I bought was the red calico which was a Keepsake Calico from JoAnn's. I knew it was going to work the minute I saw it. This is a BIG bed quilt. Full size, if not queen.

I forgot to hold my phone horizontally, so the photos loaded sideways. QB always turns vertical photos sideways.

And I don't remember if I shared this one with y'all... made from a picture on Pinterest. It's a lap quilt size and will be donated.

So you see I really AM trying to use up my squares. But I could make these two quilts ten times and not use all I have! Every time I cut up scraps, I end up with a new stack of them. They are relentless.

Crispy: Are you waiting until your b'day to open them all ?

Lucia: adorable, regardless of when it got done

Teach: OMG....sewing a straight line after all that Crown. Sounds like something the gals I hang around with would say! LOL

SewBiz: Oh MAN....that is one beautiful creation!

If I keep looking at what everyone else has done with their candies I will NEVER be able to make up my mind! Now I have 4 patterns in my head. Mercy!

    Hello everyone

Here is a quick post for the June birdie. I am going out of town but I will bring my computer to get caught up on messages as well as to check for questions on June's birdie.

Something is very special about this block. I really did not like the original block so I was going to design one. Well LuciaLPL beat me to it! She designed this sweet block......hope you all like it.

You sound so busy how do your manage to squeeze in time for quilting? Oh, forgot. There are priorities aren't there?
Speaking of Crown Royal quilts.... I made this commission quilt a few years ago for a woman wanting to have this made for her husband's 60th birthday. And yes, they DID drink and save all those crown royal bags!! The very center block (which is hard to see in this pic) was custom embroidered for a bottle that says "Wayne's Stash, Crown Royal".
The block I used is the "square in a square". It was ummm... INTERESTING to say the least!!

Here's the picture I saw online. Mine looks a bit different as I changed the size of the scrappy centers so I could use my candies. I think I like it better the original way.
