Thanks Jane. On the birdie bellies I asked my granddaughters (4 and 6) how they thought I should embroider them. Blue with white stars and red with white stripes were their directions. I just used an embroidered satin stitch. It took a minute, but was fairly easy. The funny part is, when I finished all the embroidery and showed them, the 6 yr old asked what those crossed sticks were in the birdie beaks....sparklers! OHHHH. She said.

Too funny! Don't take it as a reflection of your embroidery skills.... A lot of today's kids have never played with sparklers. Your satin stitches are beautiful and perfect.
