Happy Lab, your envelope is ready for the mailbox. Off to the post office during my lunch hour today.

Crispy, you are not behind! I haven't mailed mine out, yet, either. Of course I wanted to wait until closer to her b'day so she'd not be bombarded......((whistling))...yup....that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

Mine will be out by tomorrow

Yup, that's it. Thank you, WMUTeach. My notes aren't with me but I believe there will be about 850 squares in addition to the sashing and background squares for the rows that are next to the outside sashing. I do have a handful of duplicates, I'm perfectly ok with it that way. I pulled squares at random and knew about the dups but I just kept going. Stopping to rethink things can stall me so it's onwards and upwards. Going to try my sashing around the large center square next to see if the reds I have in mind will work. If not, I'll find a grey or a brown I like.

But I have made a serious dent into my pile, box/bin of little treats.

Janice, did you try to control it at all or did you just pick an envelope and start sewing?

AQ, Most of those squares came from a couple of swaps which I'd separated by color a year or more back so they were all mixed up. It's "semi-controlled". I'm not sure I could ever just go for it straight out of a bag. I attempted to match a dark or medium with a lighter block. Then I combined pairs trying for dark, light, dark, light, more or less. Didn't want an obvious checkerboard effect but I did want contrast from one block to the next. I mostly achieved that. I might correct/change a few blocks, maybe not. But I didn't control it so much that a red had to be here and then a green and then a white...it's kind of how they were stacked in the pile. Hope that helps.

I know they will arrive early but do not want to be late. December ladies' candies are on the way! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. This is my favorite holiday!
