Wow... loads of chatting since I last popped in! Looks like this is going to be a great thread this year.

LOVE the quilts posted!! I actually came here to show you one idea that popped up on my Pinterest feed this morning:
    https://www.pinterest.com/pin/572379433877485022/
It's only an Instagram photo, no pattern, but easy to figure it out for 2.5" candies and bigger neutral squares. I thought it was super cute.

Love the embroidery blocks too. I still haven't embroidered the first one, but plan to.

It's nice that Sherry caved and joined for this year, but I'm definitely sitting out of the trade. I would like to be a permanent lurker, tho, and root you all on. I think 32 is a great number for the swap!

I'm so excited to be taking a road trip to Memphis for my daughter's birthday this week, and then a side trip to Marshall's Dry Goods for a day. WHOO HOO. I love going there to shop!

Can I answer the questions too? My favorite color is green. It's not what i use most in a quilt, because I'm usually quilting for others.

Favorite animals... dogs would be the top, and I love kitties too. For non-domestics, my favorite are elephants and gorillas. I can stand at a zoo and observe both of them for literally HOURS... which is why I have to go to zoos by myself, lol. Birds: I love any kind of dwarf parrot or parakeet.

Barbara: I busted out laughing at the socks and pearls. I think I need to do that to mine. She already prances around with bows in her hair (not my idea, son's gf is a dog groomer and does it for me), but I think the socks would be a fab finish

Redstilettos....Sophie thought she was beautiful with her socks and pearls. Never took them off!

Nice job on the birdie square..... MizMelly...I think it is amazing that you can do the embroidery by machine

When the muse hit, I just grabbed the first thing I could, which wasn't a very nice muslin that was intended as lining, so it's not as nice as it could be. I'm currently refreshing my embroidery skills and knowledge, so I'll be more than ready for the next round. After I get some nicer fabric for embroidery that is!!
Don't look too close at my less than fantastic embroidery of the rainbow!

well in hardly wait for the planting season....... I love alyssum. Those tiny little flowers that are annuals that you plant at the border of the garden. They are white and purple. I always plant them in the rocks in my garden and around the border. They are so hardy that they don't need much attention. And they smell divine!

Jacksonville is cold but cool place, even with spring breaker nonsense! Found LQS & picked up plate "Sew Fine" for my collection. 2 more days & heading home - hope to stop in 'Bama at SEA quilt shop hidden off the beach between Mobile & Pensacola, we shall see crossing my fingers!

Been working on Spring Blooms applique at hotel during down time, slow going but turning out alright.

    Jaba, love your quilt!

If I miss your BD, Mrs. Halibut, have a great one!!!
    hugs,
    dj
