The State Fair of Virginia is having a Barn Quilt Contest. This year's theme is Sunflowers. Some of the rules are: only one square between 12" and 18." It must be pieced, not appliqued. It can only contain geometric shapes.
My entry finished at 17." I used a bunch of candies. Does it look like a Sunflower to you?

Jennr8r, Oh, it's not a contest for an actual barn quilt! I see. :-)
Barn quilts are made from painted wood and usually hang on barns, although people hang them on houses and outbuildings also.

Yes, that is what a true barn quilt is, but this is a barn-quilt contest. Last year they recreated the winning barn quilt in wood and put it on the barn at the fair.
