LStew....sending hugs your way. do the best you can with the swap. if your packages are ready to go with out cards just send them out that way. Just include a note saying they are from you.

I got up this morning thinking I would get the next two birthday squishes ready for the mail and I am all out of birthday cards. After being gone for a week and a half, there is so much to do at home. I need to go to the store.

Love your blue birds, they are soooo cute. Do you have a pattern to share with us? I would like to try making some. Looks like HST and 2 1/2' sqs. and ?????. What is the finished size ?

I saw a picture of the block online and made my own pattern on graph paper. I made my bird to fit an 8" block. I don't know the size of the original pattern. My squares finished at 1.5"

I was able to make the half-square triangles with the 2.5" candy blocks.

Here is a link to where you can buy the quilt pattern using this block: http://www.thepatternbasket.com/catalog.htm?item=214

Here are some other pictures of the block: https://www.pinterest.com/search/pin...yped&term_meta[]=feathers%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=quilt%7Ctyped&term_meta[]=pattern%7Ctyped

I could be making cardinals and juncos. Not a paper piece fan but a few for a wall hanging might be nice. Like your little dearies. I live near a marsh and get many, many bird from gold finches to sand hill cranes but no field loving bluebirds. Do you have a good source for PP bird paatterns?

Well, silly me, I got the envelopes all ready for the mail and then I heard Homer Simpson go Duh!! No mail today, because it is Columbus Day. Dropped them off to the post office so they will go out in the early morning mail tomorrow.

Thank you Ms. Barbara, I went to the store and got enough cards to finish out the year. The remaining October Birthdays will go out this morning. I did notice that the .50 birthday cards have shrunk. I've noticed that a lot lately, items getting smaller but the price remains the same. "GRRRRRRR"

JENNR8R, Thanks for the pictures and bird pattern links. After looking at them, it feels like I should start another project because they are so cute, but I'm trying not to start new projects and instead get the old ones done.
