The blocks are the right size...but, to make them the right size easy and not do the tugging dance at the ironing table I have to lose the very tips off the star. There lies the issue:)Ske

Sheat, I will be proud to get your block or anyone's . I haven't started my blocks, finishing a doll quilt first, but I know from experience that mine will not be perfect! The joy in doing this swap is seeing all the different blocks and getting to know so many other quilters. I have never had a class, although I would love to take some, so I have to learn by my mistakes, which I do all the time. If having perfect squares is a must, then I am doomed.

Here is my Double Spinning Wheels block. Now I am off to make the other eleven. This is my first block swap and I am loving it. I love seeing everyone's blocks...such a great variety.

Cool block Qarena! I think black and white is so chic...I look forward to seeing the stunning quilts that will be made from the blocks.

I found the best way for me to make sure my block is going to come out to 12.5" is to grab my graph paper. I take the block I like and figure it out ina 12 x 12 square. Then I add my seam allowances to the number of squares each piece is. ( I don't know if that came out correctly or not!)
But what I have discovered is that I love my graph paper.

Okay...I have a block and I cut out a few of the pieces and will trial sew a couple to see how I "measure" up with the scant 1/4" seam and a block coming to measure 12 1/2"...
I should have a pic by tomorrow to post.
Will want to have honest opinions. Everyone is doing great!
    I am LOVING IT!
