    I think - - if you make an eight pointed star and turned it on point, you would get a shooting star, but it wouldn't have the angles on it that the shooting start has. I think.

    The original shooting star block on quilters cache was made from 4 inch blocks. I did mine with three inch blocks so I could get two complete stars in a 12 inch block. Look at the original pattern and maybe you could figure out a way to make it 8 pointed but I doubt it.
    As omak said it would lose the angles.

    Love your blocks scrap quilter. I like the the ones you played around with. The one looks like the old TV test pattern when the station was off air. Love it. :D

    Saw more of the test pattern at times then the movie that was on.
