I've got all my blocks for my second set cut out. I might order another print to make a third set too. Its a really fun block to make and I know just the person I want to make the final quilt for! Plus I want some blocks for me so I might just have to make 3 sets!

Ok... so i have been in this board for like 10 minutes (i mean the first ever ten min.!) and i am trying to absorb a lot at one time, so bare with me please.
I am really interested in this idea but i could use some insights about the fabric (i am a new quilter). What type of fabric should i be looking for (what am i looking for???)
Also are the block supposed to be rough (not squared to 12"?)
Thanks for the feedback

fatens, in swaps the instructions are posted on the first post. You need oriental fabric for this swap that is 100% cotton. And your block should be squared at 12 1/2" so when it is in the final quilt all blocks will be 12

For this block swap, we are using Oriental "look" 100% cotton fabric. The 3 center squares MUST be black. Each block should be squared to 12.5" X 12.5" before sending to Deb for the swap. If you go back to the 1st page, you will find all the guidelines for this swap. If you have questions, since you are new please just ask. This board is a very friendly, helpful community. We recognize that we were all new once. And it seems no matter how long I have been quilting, (50+yrs)
I still learn new techinques and ways to do things.
Glad you stopped by, If you are interested in joining, and have questions just ask. I will find some pictures of fabric to give you an idea.
