I like both but I have to say I like the one on the left better. (though not by much)

I like the one on the left.
Since it's a swap and there would be no other blocks to "match" up to it, I think, and it's my opinion, that the one on the right would just look strange.

you could always make 6 of each style - kinda like i made 4 of 3 different styles.

You're probably right, Terri. I actually like the one on the right, but the one on the left looks more "finished". It probably would look strange - like it needs something more to complete it. (Does that even make sense?)

I thought of that, too, KLue. I thought I could do 1/2 and 1/2. Though, I think I'll probably just do them all like the left one, then do another quilt alternating the two blocks -- that's assuming I ever have the time to do it. There are so many projects and commitments I have right now.

I think the reason I like the one on the right so well is because it is not the conventional look.

yes it makes sense because the secondary design would only show up when placed next to other blocks that have the flowers on the outside.

I am new to this message board but this sounds like a fun thing to do. So do I pick a block of my own choice?

The block is your choice! This will be my second swap. I just finished the black and white swap and loved it. Can't wait to see what comes back to me!

I loved the Black and White Swap so am excited to jump in on this one also, since I love the blue and yellow combination. I think I will do the Ribbon Quilt Block. These swaps are great...thanks Colletta. Can't wait to receive my B&W blocks.
