I got the turtle pattern from the Encyclopedia of Quilt Patterns. It really turns out cute when you have scissors to cut out the pattern.

KATSKid, where did you hide my cutting scissors :-(?

I prewash most fabric when I get it and then try to get it folded before it gets horribly winkled. I always iron it before cutting.

I'm thinking of doing machine embroidery on some boom blocks. Anyone here who absolutely does not want it? Or, would really like some?

Ive seen a quilt made where the person didn't pre wash and there was shrinkage and it looked puckered. That was a few years ago though and don't know if fabric has improved. I LOVE ironing so I don't mind prewashing then being able to run my hand over the fabric before I use it!!
Has anyone had problems with the board "freezing" and then kicking you out lately? Or not being able type at my
normal pace in the remaks....its frustrating!

I normally do not prewash. But for swaps such as this boomerang, I will cut what I think I need of coordinating fabric and hand wash those pieces. Do NOT machine wash small pieces.. I also only partially dry in the dryer or even just roll up in a towel, the rest of the drying is via the iron. This method seems to avoid the scraggly threads making a mess around the cut pieces.

Yes, I have been having problems but thought it was my computer and not the board. My computer is old though and needs either a computer hospital or just a new computer.
I would love to have a block with embroidery on it!
