Block for Marcialee Made by Bee Beatty
Thanks for posting all the latest photos to the gallery, Janice.
This block is for Marcialee. I is the Ohio Star on Quilters Cache. Always a beauty...this pattern is a favorite. The background fabric is much more cream than it appears in the photo. Hope you like it.
One more to go! And then finish the one for me.
Really enjoyed this Swap...hope to see you all next time,
Bee

I have a question and since you are all so good with all the blocks you are showing, I hope you can help me. I am working on a block that has 16- 1/2 sq. triangles. My question concerns matching those points. What do you think of ironing the seams open? Is this strictly a no no? Wouldn't this eliminate a lot of the bulk? Would this be acceptable?
This block is for quilt addict, if you are reading this, what do you feel about open seams?
I have three more blocks that will be using this many hst's, my last three in this swap.
Okay, there are more than one question here, hope you can help me.

Actually I was asking anyone that was reading this! Thank you for answering. I have never tried opening seams in order to match them. I am going to test on my own block before I try on one of these swap blocks!

I've done plenty of 16 hst blocks and I've done them both ways, open seams and pushed to one side. I've even been known to do both in the same block if I couldn't get the seams to nest properly. Basically, do which ever works best for you and the looks of the block.

More Blocks
Here are a few more. I don't know if KatskidinWI's block has a name, I did it without a pattern. The same with NCQuilter- I gave it a name 9 Patch Frame, but didn't have a pattern. Groovy Pieces is Cluster of Stars, Moonrise-Window to China from McCall's Quilts, Terriamn-Hole in the Barn Door, but with a thinner frame-I didn't want too much black and Quilt Addict-Mississippi
