The block is from Judy Hopkins "501 Rotary Cut Quilt Blocks" and is called "Star Puzzle". I love the block because it seems to always showcase someone's fabric. On a F8 you only have 1 3" or else strip left. It really showcases the fabric I think. I like to use as much as I can of the other person's fabric to make sure it shows up well in the quilt that they are planning.
terriamn it's jaba, must have been a couple of typo's??

Just giving you a hard time...my typing does the same thing Fingers go one way but the keys never move. Seems like posting on the board has been a little different though, sometimes it skips letters as I'm typing or spaces

Jaba I hate to post your finished block I made after ArizonaKat's pretty block. I have been working w/ it all day and this isn't where I was going exactly when I started. I have had to rework my ideas several times. I wanted to work on an off center asymmetrical block, those funny shapes (3) are suppose to be more balloons the bear is holding, I did the imperfect snowballs on purpose b/c of the kidlike feel of the print, thought the similar striped fabric was a perfect choice, but then noticed they kinda blend into the background. I was going to do friendship stars instead of points, and make them imperfect on purpose, but didn't have enough bear fabric, so was going to make them perfect, then had math issues w/ the magic 8 hst formula, so the stars became points, and I just hope you don't hate the block.

Gentle Reminders
Since we're starting to get going in this swap, I want to remind everyone of a few things:
Thanks!
- Be sure you are reading and following requests whenever possible. If you have any questions, please post or pm the fabric owner with questions.
- 12 1/2 inches is the block size you are aiming for, or as close as you can get. Measure, measure, measure as you go so you can spot issues before the block is done.
- Clean up your blocks by trimming threads, neatly pressing, and squaring up your blocks.
- Label blocks with your name so the person receiving it will know who created it and pack each one in it's own baggie/ziplock.
- When you are ready to ship to me, be sure to put your blocks in a large, resealable ziplock bag. If you are in both groups and shipping to me at the same time, please separate the groups into two bags.
- Participation on the board is required. Remember to check in here regularly!
- If you have any questions about the swap or any problems, please email me at [email protected]
- HAVE FUN!!!
Thanks!
