I am in Newport News about midway between Richmond and Virginia Beach. Have you ever been to Hampton for the Mid Atlantic Quilt Festival? It is a great show and might be a fun place to meet up.

Nope, I never knew about it. Guess I will have to do that some day. When do they have it? If you know the date or place let me know and I'll see if I can drive down.

Oooo love my hunters star! The rest are so spectacular too! Dang, I have lots more peach and white if you are truly bored...I'll be lucky to get all of mine done in the next month at the rate I'm going. Hoping to post some tomorrow night.

Seasaw, thanks another great block. You do beautiful work. I am impressed with your Hunters star and day and night. Haven't tried either of them but they are so pretty will have to give them a try. We're they difficult to match the points? Terriamn

of all the Day & Night blocks the Pinwheel is the easiest by far. They all are cut with 90 degree angles so you can sew all the matching pieces together so it's more like sewing strips instead for matching the pieces on an angle. I'm not sure that made sense but it's the only way I know to explain it.

I had problems with the Star ones at first but I find it a lot easier if I layer the two colors facing each other and cut the shapes out, they are exactly the same size and match up perfectly. But you do have to remember to be sure your are using the correct side of the pattern pieces when cutting. I goofed one today but was luck enough to have extra fabric to re-cut.

To give you an example: I laid the white on top, then cut all the different pieces (3) out but the middle pattern piece should have been flipped over so the darker fabric was cut the right way. This would give you all the pieces for the first 6 1/2" section. I do this for each of the 4 sections. They all line up really well. After I sew the sections I re measure to make sure they are 6 1/2" before sewing them all together.

The Hunter's Star is just as easy, cut each section out by layering the fabrics and there is no way you can screw it up because the pieces are all the same size.

Seasaw2mch - the show is held in Hampton every year at their convention center. This year it's being held Feb 26 thru March 1. Here is a link about the show http://www.quiltfest.com/activities.asp?id=8
