These are sewn in strips really. Look at the bottom row... you sew a triangle to the top by the donkey head and a triangle on the edge by his hind leg. On Tigger, you sew a triangle to the edge by his forehead and a triangle to his bottom left hind leg, etc etc...

Once you have them in "diamond" shapes you lay them out and sew them in strips. You do have a lot of "cut off" waste to square them up but the hardest is trying to match the points so the triangle points meet up...some I did gooder than others

Trying a new block idea I had a few days ago, decided to do a trial block for assembling and sizing, I'm glad I did, several things about the block I didn't consider in the size and piecing. I am at a perplexing spot so I took a yogurt "thinking" break.

Ooh, love the kitty and the block you made for me! Thanks. I've ordered a new camera from Amazon so I should be able to take and load pictures soon.

Fridays I'm half brain dead, it is the day between my two 24 hour shifts. So I have been wrecking my brain w/ this new pattern trying to make all the pieces fit, I had an "easy" assembly all figured out and was almost to the end of the block, just 3 pieces left when I was pressing for final assembly, it hit me like a rock ............................ I saw the pattern for a MUCH MUCH more simple assembly!!!! I was making it much more complicated then it needed to be.

I've decided I really like to listen to "One Republic", "Imagine Dragons", "Bruno Mars" & "Maroon 5" when sewing just to name a few. They really seem to have a good sewing beat and you get into a groove with them (Now I sound like I'm on American Bandstand rating a new song, lol). Not a youngster by any means (55) but I do enjoy music turned up loud and carefree when in my sewing room (hubby is a truck driver so he's gone a lot).
