Oh my I had such an emotional day. My 4 year old and 11 year old granddaughters were in their first ever dance recital and I had to miss it. My dd wrote when the 4 year old got on stage she smiled and smiled when 11 year old went on she burst into tears, dancing isn't an easy task for 11 year old Abby but she did a fantastic job. This is the same child doctors told us would probably never walk, talk or comprehend her surroundings. Just had to share our happiness

That is awesome, not that you missed it, but that they did it. Especially w/ such a hard beginning. Dr's don't know it all that is for sure. My Gpa was injured in WWII they said he wouldn't survive, then they said he would never walk, he was 17 when he was injured (lied about his age to get in) he was 77 when he died and walked until the end.

Awe Terri your grand daughters are adorable. Hell you made my eyes well up with your story such incredible inner strength it took for the 11yo to continue. I was "that" mom that got emotional at all her kids first sports game, recitals, and performances. I know I will when it's those future grandkids.

Such sweet GDs! How blessed you are that she didn't believe the Drs and went right ahead doing what she did. Sorry you have to miss the recital "in person".

I spent a year (some time ago) taking turns going to practice with my 3 yrd old GD. Got her little pink too too. Everyone showed up at the recital, movie camera and all.

They trotted on stage and my GD just kept on trotting . . . right back off stage on the other side. That's the last we every saw of her on stage. Still have it on camera.
