Hello everyone! I'm only semi-MIA right now. We're going through a lot in this house, not the least of which is that mom and sis moved in under emergency conditions a few weeks ago. We're all adjusting but since nothing happened according to plan, it's a bit helter-skelter here. Happily, the medical mess has calmed for a bit and I may be almost ready to post the new swap. Honestly, I'd been debating whether I would find the time to do it again but thanks to an unexpected and sweet PM from a swapper a short time ago (you know who you are!), I've decided to throw caution to the wind and go for it. Mind you, my idea of throwing caution to the wind is to check emails only twice a day instead of the usual 3 or 4 times. I may have longer stretches between postings on the dedicated threads, but I'll still be reading them and I may run behind on posting pix. But if you all can stand that, I will post Boom 15 in the next day or two.

AzKAT, I'm so sick of BSL (breed specific legislation) against certain canines. People forget PBs (and Rotties, and Shepherds and...) are first and foremost, just plain old dogs. I hope your situation turns out well for you and yours.

Beautiful quilt Terriamn! I hope you get to enjoy your lake house often.

TG and Bee, I'm practically counting the days to the retreat. Too bad it's not this week.

Joan, be looking for sign-ups in a day or two.

Hi everyone...is this a busy time or what? Not to fear KAT....you are still on the list....everyone who was on the list is still a go to get an e-mail from me.....just didn't get it out yet......! Janice, I do understand exactly what you face on a daily basis...they moved my Mom to Long-Term Care this week...she has been very emotional and confused....been a hard week. My family (siblings) will arrive later this week to help her deal with changes...I always appreciate that support when they are here.

The garden is coming on...lots of green beans, tomatoes, peppers, melon, eggplant, squashed. The pool is officially open....purchased us a basketball hoop and games for the retreat! And yes, we are a full go with the retreat....sounds like we all need the time to recharge! I can picture it now...me standing in the great room at 11:00 a.m. blowing the whistle....trying to get everyone up...drinking the first round of melted smoothies myself... . And you know what....that's OK! This is a nurturing time.....job one......no have to's....can't wait!

I have so much to report...just need to get here on the computer to get it into e-mail. I am working on both Boom quilts when I can work it in. My mother's birthday is June 29th...shooting for that date...since Mother's Day has come and gone!

KAT....since I retired....on a fixed income....I realize it is a broke income...that will not get fixed anytime soon. But as for retiring....I absolutely love it! On my refrigerator I have posted the words from Proverbs Chapter 17..."Better a dry crust, than a house full of feasting with strife."

    E-Mail coming soon...I promise....

    Looking forward to Booming!

So looking forward to the retreat and some soothing time with like spirits. I have purchased my airfair so set to go. It was a hard weekend for me. My Mom went to heaven on the 1st. The reason I have not been on was able to spend the last couple weeks with her. Unfortunately we didn't get her quilting legacy all named and figured out. By legacy we mean dozens of tops. There are also a walk in closet full of quilts, pigs, ufos and fabric. So Memorial day I will go back to clean out her apartment.

Quilt Addict, I am so sorry for the loss of your Mom, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

sounds like our hiatus from the boom swap worked out well for most of us.

Bee I thought the same thing about my Mom but since she started seeing a new doctor who changed her meds and her 92 year old admirer who came into the picture she has made quite a come back.

Lisa, Im so sorry to hear about your mom. Its hard to clean out a house..my mom was born in the house she died in and when they had the sale I didn't want to let anything go.. I was only 16 when my grandmother died that had all the quilts and I had really no interest back then....wish I could redo that because she made beautiful quilts. Terri your mom is so lucky to have gotten a fresh doctor that seems to be taking care of her...and its NEVER to late to have an admirer...I keep hoping Have FUN at the retreat everyone that's going...maybe when I "retire" I can make one!

FYI Janice was trying to post the boom 15 swap but having problems posting. She think's it might be her new email address and getting it approved by administration. She wants everyone to know she will postthe next swap as soon as her posting problem is taken care of

Thanks for your help Terri. That's exactly what was needed approval and confirmation of my new email address. Done and done so I'll be posting the Boom this evening.

Please note the NEW ADDRESS to send emails to. It will be in the Sign-up form.

I miss participating in the next swap already. But I know I wouldn't have time. On my way to WI next week to check out some properties. Had to do all the research myself checking to see about property requirements for the horses and breed laws for the dogs. What DO real estate agents do now a days beside show a house they know nothing about and get a check? OK, the rant is over.

Lisa, I'm so sorry to hear about your Mom. It's never easy to rap things up. I pray that yours go well.

Bee, I can't wait to put in a garden again that will actually grow and the little critters won't carry the plants away. My original plan was to be out of here in May but work extended my "time" to June 1 so it looks like I'll be too late for a garden this year. Maybe some late summer plants.

Looking forward to drinking melted smoothies.
