Thanks everyone for not laughing.......or at least saying you did not laugh......but the more I look at this....the more I laugh....and my DH made me jiggle with laughter when he asked me if the Monkey was hanging from the tree or was he tied to the tree with the bananas hanging just above his head.....and I said, "it is a he or a she?. We both were like -

Yay I'm glad it's there one down one to go. :-)

Bee good for you taking a chance and for having a sense of humor about it it's how we learn, me I have to get it wrong at least 3 time before I get it right once.

I think someone here will know the name of this quilt and how it is made...

I found this pic on pinterest with no explanation or source. it looks to me like it's made with pre-layered, if not pre-quilted circles and then sewn together. Can that be right? Has anyone made or seen this type of quilt? It's definitely new to me.

    And...LOVE IT!!!

It is a machine pieced cathedral window.

You stitch both circles together, turn w/ a slit in fabric under the fold line. Then sew the circles together at the square marks you see, then top stitch the "flaps" down.

OK, I get it now. It really threw me at first. It's a "mock" cathedral windows quilt. Not the usual way it's done. Thank you! I'll give this a try sometime but I'll have to work on improving my circles first.

It also looks like a double wedding template using solid arches instead of pieced arches. Its very unique and pretty!
