Hey Lucky...what part of Denver? I lived in Castle Rock but moved to Kentucky in the early 90's. I graduated from Elizabeth eons ago . Just had one of my Denver friends comment she wished I was still there so I could help her learn to quilt, lol. Small world huh.

I am really looking forward to this "Boom" and think it is perfect for my busy summer as I can do a block here and there as time allows and then finish up when the kids head back to school in mid-August.

Picking my fabric was hard -- I chose Genevieve's Garden Grey by Kauffman -- it looks almost like white on white with the black butterfly outline but it is actually a very subtle grey. Not a great pic but you get the idea.

    Have a great week everyone!

Beautiful fabric, are you wanting a more modern look? What colors? Is the finished quilt for anything special?

I'm offline for the rest of the day today. Big doings. Got to keep busy today as my pup has surgery this morning. She's the love of my life (no grandchildren yet), so I'm going to be preoccupied. On a happy note, my sons are flying in from out of town on Friday and I've just got to get started finding them places to sleep. Their old rooms are now occupied by Mom and Sis and the guest room is loaded to the hilt with "stuff" that doesn't seem to have a place anymore or with items from Mom and Sis. Oh, dear. I've got to make a path to the bed in that room but which son will want to sleep on the couch in the family room?

Hello Boomers.....I can feel the excitement in the air....just around the corner...time to move the rocket to the launch pad! Feeling good about finishing up 2 quilts that have been snoozing in the closet as blocks....Yaaaay! 2 UFOs squashed into quilts.

My red Poppy quilt was a Mystery Quilt Class I did three years ago....this week it feels like my old friend....life has really changed since the we cut and pieced this complete quilt top in 5 hours! Good to see it ready for binder!

Bee lovely finishes. I have a similar medallion layout planned for BOOM 14 blocks.

Looking forward to seeing the fabric in person soon.

The final two packages are due in today. If I can, I'll mail them out early, before my scheduled shipping date of 8/22.

Bee, the medallion quilt turned out beautifully. Congrats on a fine finish. I especially like the poppy quilt; its colors are so lovely.

Ripley, my pit bull, is home and doing much better now that she's had her pain pill and a half breakfast this morning. It was a rough night for her. She had a mast cell tumor removed from her thigh and they had to take out quite a large chunk, plus she had a teeth cleaning so she's hurting there too. We're waiting go learn the tumor grade but hopefully it was stage 1 and she is cured. Fingers crossed for the pup. (Time to put her back up as my avatar.)

Glad Ripley made it through, hoping for good biopsy results.
