Beautiful blocks ladies. I especially love the octagon center star, I had been looking at a version of that, but had not decided yet whether to try and figure out the math.
I had a very long shift not just the usual 24 but then had to stay for 4+ hours of class, so when I got home I was extra tired and went to bed, but I had a really crazy dream that I thought I'd share w/ you guys. I was hosting a dinner that included the "First family", I was very excited to serve for dessert a very fancy, new "in thing" dessert, it was vinegar soaked fabric ....................... and Katsdar it was your pretty green/ blue square fabric. lol lol lol

You might have been concerned that it would bleed, and the vinegar would set the color! Now the politics, I'll stay away from. Maybe you saw the pic of the President wrestling with his dog on the White House steps?

I am completely Apolitical, couldn't care less about any of it. They seem like a nice family, I think they would make interesting dinner companions. I figure they were in the dream b/c of all the political news coverage lately, but eating vinegar soaked fabric for dessert??????? you got me where that came from!!!!! I figure Katsdar's fabric was in it b/c I've been thinking about what to do w/ it. (and I think it is pretty)

I've always found it interesting that our dreams seem to consist of bits and pieces of the things that happened that day, or thoughts we're wrestling with lately, or just the odd thing you saw recently. They get all mixed up in some kind of weird way and are resolved or put to rest in some fashion in our dreams.

I wouldn't worry about the corner, it will drive you nuts but when it's in a quilt it won't even be noticeable, pretty colors, now lets see the rest of the block.

Making quilts from clothes, clothes from curtains, quilts into curtains, human clothes into chicken cloths, etc.... yes all the time.
Ok, ladies, you can have a giggle at my expense. 1971, husband in the Air Force, 2 boys under 2 in cloth diapers & no washing machine (disposables hadn't been thought of yet) living 700 miles from home with few resources and even less money. Our apt had a window in the kitchen that was at least 45" square, probably bigger, with just a pull down roller shade. We were in NC, land of fabric outlets. Right next to the laundromat! And one within walking distance. We had no car. With both boys in tow I pawed through piles of fabric & found a white cotton with small flowers piece of fabric big enough to make a curtain for that humongous window. I was so proud, and happy I didn't have to pull that window shade down anymore. Happy.
A couple of weeks later, a family from the base invited us to go to the beach. Not just the beach, the OCEAN. I'm a Midwest girl, rivers & reservoirs were what I'd seen in my life. Not the ocean, but I didn't have a bathing suit. 2 babies in 22 months my body was not the same as it had been!
Ok, I can sew one. But the price of the pattern & elastic & lining didn't leave enough for fabric. Oh my, it didn't take long before I saw my bathing suit hanging in the kitchen window. Wasn't a difficult decision. I wore that suit the whole 2 1/2 years we were in NC. Don't remember ever making another curtain for that window. I still laugh when I think of making that curtain out of what would soon be my bathing suit!
