Lovely blocks, Joan!
My basement can be damp occasionally during heavy rains so I have to make sure it doesn't get out of control. I've got a dehumidifier that does a great job and keeps the area nice. The best time to quilt down there is in the summer as the room is cool and on nice mornings, I can throw open the windows and the door and get lots of light and fresh air in.
I have a question for everyone. Has anyone ever stood up to sew? I find that sitting still too long is getting hard for me and I wonder if any of you have ever rigged a stand up sewing area? What made me think this might work for me is that hubby just got a standing desk for his computer. He's able to stand much of the day and is far more comfortable. Has anyone ever seen this done or tried it yourself?

What sewing room? My machine shares the living room with a piano and tv...way too small a house on the main level and I dont want to go upstairs to sew or to the basement where its damp. I guess I could turn the back laundry room into a sewing room but all my outside house plants are in there right now...maybe when I can put them outside...I know where everything is and its "organized" and its just me so Im pretty sure I wont take a picture LOL...Finished these two for Libster but the board is not cooperating with posting pictures right now....Ill try one more time!

My sewing space is a TINY 9' x 9' spare bedroom, that also serves as a general craft room and also a computer room for both DH and me. Needless to say, we are jammed in here like sardines, and at the moment, it's total chaos. I recently ordered a bunch of fabric remnants ... probably 75 pounds or more ... and I don't have it all put away yet. There's fabric piled up EVERYWHERE.
Being up to your ears in fabric is a GOOD thing, though, right?
Maybe I can get a photo when (if?) I get all the chaos organized.
The middle-sized bedroom is where my quilting frame is, since it's too long to fit in my sewing room.

All you ladies crack me up some people do their best work among chaos me not so much I'm just lazy and it gets bad really really bad when I'm actually working on a project or 3 I'll take a more realistic picture when I'm in the trenches further in the process.
I've never sewn standing up but I have seen the taller tables for It I would sure like to try one. I hate how low mine is particularly when I'm cutting

Hence part of the reason I've haven't retaken a pic of your block. It's, um, under something. Somewhere. In the chaos. Chaos is definitely NOT my friend. It's safely obscured from view right now but when I get home tomorrow, I will find it and post a pic. Really. When I find it.
