Boom 17 - OPAL

A couple of slices of pizza and a cold drink and then this happens.....

I dismantled and started fresh. I like this better.
Nanakathy55. The light colored fabric is really a cream colored fabric with little flowers.
I am now ready to mail. Thank you Janice for hosting such a fun swap. I will definitely be on the look out for the next Boom. Thank you to all my fellow boomers for your support and kind words, especially when things would not go right.

NanaKathy's block is superb, as well. Such perfect HSTs. Congrats on getting your blocks all done, Lstew. I'm looking forward to the next boom, too.

Lstew I think your block you had trouble with is beautiful. The second one using the flower material is definitely a better use of the fabric, it pops more. NK's block is so striking, there's something to say about 2 color blocks, and NK's fabric is so pretty.

joanelizbay, MD is no joke and it isn't fixable. Cataracts are. Surgery has become something that's almost expected since we are living longer. Please follow doctor's orders. So glad you have someone close to drive you. 40 years ago doc told my mother not to bend down or get riled up. "Don't do anything to raise your blood pressure." Ha! Mom rarely ever raised her voice! Good luck and warm hugs. Let us know how things turn out.

Lstew2212 - Beautiful work! Thank you for adding such a cheery yellow on my block! The ones for the others are beautiful too. I admit I like the redo better than the original. The one for NanaKathy55 is a great use of fabric.
I've finished one block for everyone and am trying to get a second block for everyone before mailing.
Lstew2212, this is a second block for you. A "Patience" block. The red actually works with your feathers better in real life. The yellows and oranges in my stash was off just a tad. The olive green was too dark.

I teach Silver Sneakers exercise classes to senior adults. One of the things we never do is allow any forward bending beyond 45 degrees, and it's always done with the face lifted, looking straight ahead. This is because of the blood pressure and eye pressure issue most seniors have. I always tell them the floor is still there, they don't need to look down to make sure! I also teach a senior yoga class and we do lots of modifications of the more inverted poses for the same reason. Just a few adjustments we have to make as we get older!

Sewbizgirl - " I always tell them the floor is still there, they don't need to look down to make sure! " Funny!
Libster - Nice block
Lstew2212 - Who is going to read all the get well posts for you while you recover, or can you do that like a pirate?
Kwiltkrazy - Thank you very much
It's interesting how swapping between computers makes certain things (like smiley faces) easier.
