I'm about to be the fussy host here but please bear with me: construction-wise the goal is 12 1/2 inches square, 1/4 seam allowance and neat and clean blocks. Thank you. And this is just a reminder because everything looks wonderful so far.

Now onto to the beaming host: LOVE the blocks that have already been shown. I think this swap is starting out very well. Thank you!!! The batik with the black is a beauty and the fish block is cool. And the one for Jaba with the lavender, I really like the contrast. Lovely how the floral is so well highlighted. Great blocks Lstew and sewbizgirl
Great block, Lstew! I've always known that one as 'cheese and crackers' or just 'cracker block'. And yes, I have to make lots of adjustments to my seams to get them to come out right and be 12.5" when done. Lots of my seams are removed and/or resewn.)

I like the name cheese and crackers. I like cheese and crackers as a snack, maybe why this block jumped out at me. Funny how blocks have many different names.

I am having so much fun.

Suddenly my wi-fi has dropped out and email is impaired. It seems to be at charter.

GramE, got your email and will get back to you ASAP when mine is back up.

Edited: email is winking in and out. Anyone who is trying to reach me, I'll get back to you when this mess clears up.

I guess I wasn't meant to create today. My iron is being a goober today. It won't heat up and you know you can't get nice crisp blocks without a nice hot iron.

This is a block I just finished. I was going to put the last bit of heat on it and NO heat.
It still needs one more go over with the iron. I guess I'm off to buy a new iron today.

Ignore the orange at the bottom of the picture, my shirt is reflecting on the block.

Hi, Lstew. Whose block is this please? I don't know all the fabrics by heart yet so please put the owner's name in the post. It'll help me a lot when I add the photos to the gallery. Thanks!

Another pretty block, Lstew... I love the batiks you got to work with. Sounds like your iron died. Mine did that not long ago.

Default False Alarm!

It's all been worked out! If you haven't yet responded to my email, no need. But thank you to everyone who wrote back so quickly. You're a bunch of gems...
