I tried to post once but from the sewing room to recliner I forgot whose it was! My bad, it is Lstew's beautiful feathers.

Me & Miss Matilda get along real good! So this is Waltzing Matilda.

I have those magazines too but I am missing an issue. Like you I love to look through them and make about two or three.

Instead of sewing, I have been involved in the cleanup efforts here in my small town. Sunday night, about a mile from my home, we had storms and devastating flooding. Decimating neighborhoods and many of my friends have lost everything. My home is located at the top of a hill and we just lost some limbs out of our trees. What has surprised me the most is the outpouring of help and support that has come our way. Total strangers have come to help in the cleanup efforts as well as locals getting in and getting there hands dirty to help their neighbors. Please pray for strength for these people, they have a long way to go before things are back to normal.

Lstew, bless you for helping. Glad your house wasn't damaged any more than the tree limbs. It's during times like this that people really come together and re-learn what being neighbors really means. Good can come out of the bad.

We are leaving in the morning for SIL's funeral in south Louisiana. It took several extra prep days as her body was moved from Kentucky to Louisiana. Thank God our sweet neighbor offered to come tend to my dog twice a day so I don't have to take him to a kennel. He would be so afraid and stressed and so would I, thinking about him.

I've been off on a tangent giving a makeover to a doll I found at an estate sale over the weekend. Want to see? She is a Mattel Chatty Cathy from the early 60's, but no longer talks. Most of them don't talk anymore.... She was naked and had ugly matted hair and was dirty, but she cleaned up so well. Her hair still was pretty once it was cleaned and combed out and curled, and she loves her new sailor dress. (Ignore the pink socks-- she will have red shoes eventually.)

I had a Chatty Kathy when I was young. My brother took her apart to see how she worked. Boo hoo.

Kwiltkrazy, I hope you'll consider joining us for Boom 18. I hope to have sign-ups starting in December with the actual swapping of F8s to begin in early January.

Yes, Boomers, 18 is in the works, in my head at least.

I didn't have a Chatty Kathy, but I did briefly have a Nancy Nonsense doll. http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=...9o2&ajaxhist=0
