Here is one I made for my quilt tonight. It's Aunt Dinah from the FW1930's book. It's a pretty block but it's a hot mess. All the sewing ended up being on bias diagonals and everything stretched. If it goes together with my other blocks it will be a miracle. It might end up being the block on the back!

When working w/ a bias seam I used to use spray starch, but have switched to sizing, it works wonders. Just spray and press before you cut.

The tree skirt is actually pretty easy. I bought the Phillips Art Wedge Ruler, 10 degree, and it has the pattern on the back with the ruler. It goes by fast because you sew strips together, then cut with the ruler. I taught this as a class and had many samples. The one I need to do now is all the pieces from the skirts I made. It will look interesting in the end, but will be fun. Unless I decide to make them table toppers. That could be a better idea.

Thank you for the tip. I'll look for sizing next time I shop.

Once again a small change makes a big difference in my block. Just changing the border on her block just a bit made it so much better sorry Janice for the extra work putting them in the gallery but this one is much better.
