Checking in ladies. Looking great on the blocks.

Oh, and for those who contributed to my Boom 16 quilt on the Marvel fabrics, it took a first at the fair. Yep, a blue ribbon.

That was a wonderful quilt! I was just looking at it last night in the gallery... one of my favorites!

Hey quilters. Just checking in. On the shirt quilt - Are those fabrics that have memories for you? An aunt of mine worked at a shirt factory in the 60's. She would bring home bundles of cutoffs that Mom and Aunts would use to make quilts. They must have made hundreds of shirts and quilt tops.

Have you ever had a fabric that fought you all the way? I have three in this BOOM. They are ones that I have clear ideas in my head that just aren't translating. I make test blocks using my fabric, and I am building a pile of fillers.

GramE - you have the green floral, right? The central design is so lovely but would NOT stay in the center! I kept seeing a basket pattern on point, but thought that would not be a good block to send. So I'm working on another type. It came out just a touch small so I am ripping some seams to adjust it. I think it will work better.

Quiltermomma,
That is so exciting about your blur ribbon!!! I always get excited when I see one of my blocks in someone elses completed quilt now I can say something I played a tiny part in won a ribbon, thats even more exciting hahahaha Congratulations to you for taking all of those blocks and turning them into something so awesome.

Today as I was bagging and storing all of my Opal blocks and fabrics I kept looking at LJDugas's fabric and kn ew I had just enough to make one more block. So instead of working on the big projects I really need to finish I made one more Opal block because I was right I had just enough I have a single piece of 3" by 1" left I think I did all right

Nope, mine is the purple & red batiks. Sorry. It might be LJDugas.
