I thought it was unique and I loved the finished block too. But I must say when I venture onto the Jinnie Beyer site I'm a bit hesitant but this block went together amazing easy.

This star is quite interesting. I bet it would make some cool 3D looks playing around w/ color and value w/ this one.

Gorgeous blocks! I 'specially like the one with the tree in the middle. These Boom 17 blocks are THE best.

On the page for star sapphire you can click on a picture of a whole quilt. You are right, so many possibilities when you play with the color/value. And it was a very easy block to come together but I don't mind those twisted seams like some do.
