I would stay here longer but can't leave poor dh to handle my oldest on his own. guess if it gets to much for him he can commute from the lake to work vbg
Jaba at least you know where you will be living. We know when dh retires we will have to move. House is paid for but our taxes are ridiculous We have talked over lots of different scenarios but still at the stage of just throwing out different ideas.

Not the fabric that gives me problems, it is my brain/attention span! The problems started when I was trying to alternate the seam direction and forgot to watch which way the faces were pointing. All is good though, and I do like the look of it. I thought the gold was overpowering but the seam allowances took up enough to balance it out, glad you like it.

Jaba, as I make my quilt from Boom 16, I'm amazed at how much of the retirement fabric is just the right size for two inch squares or strips! Makes life a bit easier. So thanks to all who sent back blue paisley! I'm using it for sure.

Terriamn - I sure can relate - love my children and grandchildren but have a limit - and the 2yo will be back with her parents tonight - will get my room back and have a moment to myself!! Sounds good anyway. I am so anxious to sew on your fabric.
We are still living in the RV cause we never found the perfect place to totally settle down! We do like the place in AZ, but it is too far from NY and mom. I hate the humidity on the coast but love the water. I figure in another 10 yrs, the oldest grands will be in their 20's and my mom will be 99 and maybe we won't be needed to so much on the east coast. God only knows, and as long as He is leading me, I am content.

Glad you clarified !! love it. I was first thinking that you had a pile for when you retire to sew with. Then I thought - we all have one of those piles!!

Janice this ones for you. I sure hope you like it because it started out as being a frog in the garden. I didn't want to cut that pretty fabric and all I could think of was to put a frog in there but then you said you didn't want green. What's wrong with green, it's a pretty color, just ask me. LOL So how am I to put a frog in there without using green. A brown frog would look to much like a toad and they are ugly, they pee on you and give you warts, then I thought well how about a turtle? That idea was shot also because they are greenish too. SO I throw in my hat and thought it's this or nothing. Hope you enjoy my hat!!!!
My brain got a work out on this one so I'm going to take a few days off and let the blood settle back in.

OMG, that hat is the cutest thing I've ever seen! Terrific sewing on that little gem.
We've pondered this retirement thing for a very long time. We like the fact that the new house is in a gated community, good security when we aren't there, have a son there that will check on it too. It will be easy to resell so it was kind of a win win situation. Just took the leap and we'll see how it goes. Another plus is being close to the new grand daughter and watching her grow up for a few years
