MJP, I realize that Terri said your block will be coming back to you in your bag but that isn't always true from my house. After the last boom, I've found at least 3 clearly marked bags that did not get returned with their owners blocks. They were obviously hiding out with my right mind which I lost track of for a few weeks!

GramE - you had me worried - who can quit after only two swaps??? I cherish your blocks and your sense of humor. Welcome back - you aren't a newbie anymore!!
Am in on a road trip that would be fun and your right Gram is no longer a newbie I'm glad we will not be loosing her funny yet twisted views of the world.....I'm very partial to twisted

I usually bag mine in sandwich size baggies off brand not with the plastic slider. I typically reuse them from boom to boom either removing old labels or just covering them with new ones. I sometimes use the zip bags that patterns or precuts come in too. The bags with the sliders get difficult to package into the mailing envelopes especially when mailing both groups.

GramE so glad you are joining us!

Sewbizgirl, Thanks me too...To bad I only have 5 FQ's of it, lol, the bottom fabric in the pic I just threw in to see if it would go with.

mjp lol I have so much fabric I need to use what I have, I can't justify buying more, Well I can..But..hahaha

travelinggramma ~ Quilt Store, funny. Years ago one of my bff was selling fabric etc online, she decided to open a brick and mortar fabric store, dragged me in to help (ok fine I chased after her) worked with/for her for about 15 years as manager, bookeeper, in charge of shipping dept, etc. Especially after she bought the building next door and opened a Tea Shop, left me to order, ship, manage the employees and such. But I did have some great lunches next door LOL. I have very little of the fabric left over from when she closed, mainly scraps, But lol yes...now that you said it..I do feel at times like I am back at the Quilt shop with all the fabric I've acquired since.

That sounds like a wonderful job, Marietta! A dream...

Mjp, I use quart ziplocks to mail my fabric... mostly. I find the freezer kind holds up through several swaps just fine.

MJP, this is a GREAT question! Thank you. For ease in fitting everything in the larger gallon sized ziplock bag with your name and address on it, it's usually the sandwich or quart bags that work the best. You can use the little snack size but that means your block will be squashed, but then again, they can be pressed. Fold your fabric nicely to fit inside, get as much air out as you can and then neatly stack them inside the bigger bag. Fitting 19 f8s or blocks into one mailing envelope is a piece of cake but when a person is in two groups, it becomes challenging. Careful packing is key in that case.

Also, please do make sure you seal your individual packets, no fabric or blocks hanging out. If they come to me that way, my OCD won't allow me to leave them like that so I must stop whatever I'm doing to refold, stuff and seal them all. That makes me cranky, especially when it's more than one person!

    Thanks!

Sure. Use the font that you find on the first line in eye charts. You know, the giant "E"!

It it doesn't matter to me how you label everything as long as it is CLEARLY VISIBLE from the outside. If I need a magnifying glass to read names, it's too small.

Janice - can you give us ideas to make it easier for you - stickers, large print, ??

You are funny, Janice! I think I'll leave all my bags open now. You shouldn't give away your quirks. Just sayin'. It can be used against you.
