Terri, I'm so sorry to hear that Peggy passed on before you could go see her. So sad. Sorry for your and your daughter's loss.

I love the kitchens! All that bare counter space! I don't dare show you mine. Lots of "stuff".

Billi, your kitchen/dining area is beautiful. I love a large kitchen. Mine's a bit small for my taste and short on counter space, probably part of the reason I have to put things away. I have a separate dining room we use once a year, a gigantic waste, and an eat in area with a small table and chairs where I was standing. My view is on the backyard and the songbirds I love so much.

    And I'll bet you weren't 100% kidding I'd say I'm more a neat freak.

Janice your kitchen is beautiful after reading that post I was inspired to show mine and in the spirit of honesty I'll tell you I almost "put things away" and then decided nope if you were to knock on my door this is what you would see so here it is. My kitchen and dinning area (barely shown in the pictures) is pretty much the single largest area in my house between that and the christmas decorations hanging from my dining room light fixture It's not possible to show in 1 picture or all of it in 3 but you get the idea.

The lap top is where was was sitting reading and watching the sun rise, not really a sun rise as much as the changing light and the dawning of the day, when I saw Janice's kitchen.

I have ample space so I keep things on my counters, I prefer that to opening drawers to get things all the time.

What you would see from my entry way

Ah, Terri, it's so hard to lose someone , especially at this time of the year. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and your DD. It is hard, but this is something we all will have to face someday. I think the holidays just make us feel it a little more intensely.

You will never ever ever see my kitchen or counter tops as you'd croak. At work I can't stand clutter but at home, I want my projects close by. When I cook, the whole kitchen cooks....until we're done and then it gets cleaned up. You'd be freaking out living in a state of "remodel" where 1/2 the bathroom is missing and the other 1/2 is scattered in 2 other rooms.

See ... I told ya I'd be lurking, lol.

Love the fabrics, sorry for the losses and hugs to all of you

Moon I feel your pain several years ago in our last house we remodeled the kitchen. I'm not one for taking a family of 4 out to eat all the time even if it was fast food. I set up a kitchen in our garage. The fridge was already out there so I covered one of Mr. Bill's work benches with heavy duty plastic and had a microwave, George Forman grill a small toaster oven and a coffee pot. I also had a griddle and a camp stove outside. It was quite the set up I got up every morning and made breakfast and lunches out in the garage. Neighbors thought I was a nut case. We did use tons of paper plates and plastic wear and I started using things like pre made salads and chopped veggies for simplicity sake. I even did dishes in my downstairs bathtub. hahahaha After almost 5 months I was thrilled to get my kitchen back.
