Boom 19 - Autumn
#2092
Morning Boomers. Quick fyi that I'm going to email the QB for the ok to post Boom 20. Providing I get the go-ahead, sign-ups will start on or about the 10th of this month. (Can you believe it's DECEMBER already???) Same basic deal, 2 and 3 month groups, all skill-levels welcome as long as a 12 1/2 inch block can be achieved (nothing fancy needed), F8s ONLY this round (no exceptions), repeat Boomers know the drill. One change MAY BE that I do not maintain the gallery. It is by far the most time consuming portion of the swap, time I don't really have right now. I haven't decided but I did want to address it up front for those of you who are accustomed to having it. There was no gallery prior to my taking over the swap.
Anyway, will let you know when I get the ok from the QB admin. Enjoy your day.

Thinking of you Terri.
I'm going to visit my 95 year old mom in NY tomorrow. I told the kids visit this year while she still is still sharp and in pretty good health for a 95 year old. At 95 we just don't know how much longer she has. I can't imagine life without her.

My mom was 40 when my brother and I were born so to me losing her "early" in my life was hard.. She died in 1991 so my grandkids really didn't get to know her but a couple of years. I guess that's why I am so close to my 92 year old cousin because basically shes all the "older" family I have..I will be devastated if something happens to her! Prayers to all who lost their moms!!

Wow, that was fast! We're a go! Look for sign-ups on December 10.

My Christmas fabric just got delivered from GramE's link! I LOVE it! The poinsettias are what I'm sending for one group. The red and the green match it perfectly. The WOW is snowflakes. I am a happy girl!
Janice don't even worry about the gallery. We can each make an album here of blocks that we make and receive. Everyone can check blocks that way.

Got 9 of the zebra squares together. I enjoy the QAYG way of making quilts. The only hard part for me is after you get one sewn to a second block then have to flip over the wider piece and sew right on the edge..Not sure why its so hard for me but Ill get better I hope!! YEAH Janice...thats a good present!

MJP, have a great visit with your mom! You are so lucky to have her this long. My mom died when I was in my thirties. Way too soon...
Janice, the gallery is way cool, but I think we can all appreciate how hard it is to maintain. Don't worry about it. We'd rather you not get burned out! As Libster said, we can each do our own albums of blocks. That'll be fine. So will you have time to participate this time around, without having to do a gallery? Hope so!
Libster, I love your fabrics. Poinsettia prints are my favorite Christmas fabrics. I'll be thrilled to work with it!
Kass, could you not send the 12 pieces of your blue print, and then some other fabric to fill in the rest? That's what I'm going to have to do.
Joan, I'm loving that zebra quilt! The paw print is the perfect sashing for it. It's looking great so far.
Marking Dec. 10 on my calendar!
