MJP, Love your cherry block!!!! I can't see the others.
Now for your block. Traditional Hawaiian quilts are very intricate applique, usually in two fabrics, this is way beyond my applique skills, so I used that as a jumping point. The main parts are machine applique, the flowers are hand done, but not in a traditional applique stitch, I did kind of a whip stitch I thought it made the flowers look slightly raised w/o going full on 3D. Now for the chicken in the center, Hawaii has a very large population of wild chickens on the island, and that rooster was just to fun and a perfect fit. So here it is It's not letting me post

Wow, that's very cool. I love it. You're creativity always amazes me! It does have the flavor of the Hawaiian quilts.
we just visited Hawaii and the chickens (or rather roosters) played a big part in the trip, along with the very small but noisy coqui frogs.
I've made some Hawaiian quilts but I've always cheated and used raw edge appliqué instead of the traditional hand stitched appliqué.
i had trouble with the pictures too. Something going on with the site.

Kass your block is awesome so creative
that is why I used the jerkey jerkey on my appliqué for MJP, appliqué was traditional but not the stitch. Good think MJ isn't a traditional style quilting gal. ( I mean that in a nice way Mary Jo)
MJP can you try and repost the other 2 pictures.
