I purchased a pattern for a block I want to do for one of the materials. Never paper pieced before... need to be rested before I start. Like 125 pieces.

H4b, that's pretty ambitious for a first time pp'ing. May I suggest that you consider something less complicated for the Boom or at least do a practice run first on something other than the F8s you were sent? Generally, starting something brand new on someone else's fabric can be a chancy, in my opinion.

I love PP'ing now but the largest I've ever done had about 50 or 60 pieces in it and the darn thing was about a quarter inch too small because I didn't make the proper adjustment to the printer settings. Luckily the block was for me anyway so it didn't matter. On and off I'm paper piecing Bonnie Hunter's Wild and Goosey blocks. I'm about 1/4 of the way done with them. Only 300 more (egads!) 3 inch blocks to go before I can start putting them together. There are only 13 pieces per 3 inch block so it's not bad at all.

I learned to PP by doing the Farmer's Wife 1930's blocks. They were too small and intricate to do any other way! After 99 blocks I can PP fairly well! But... it is not my favorite thing to do!

I have practiced and so far it seems to come quite easy. Actually it is only 83 pieces. I am making a practice complete square tomorrow of the pattern I bought. Good thing is I have 2 yards of the fabric sent so I am going to get this. The block will be amazing.

It's a beautiful block and your confidence is high so I'll stand down. Can't wait to see the finished block.
