Love those, Mona! I can imagine that first one as a whole quilt, done with different colors but the same neutral.
Givio, if you have more of the brown Mona got, it would make great eyes for appliques!

I finally finished that beast of an old quilt! Also the baby quilts I had to repair. There is one more huge quilt but I'm going to decline it. It's worse than the first one. I'd have to reconstruct the whole quilt and it's all stars made with diamonds. I just can't bear it. It needs to retire to 'wrapping furniture' use for moving! 
I believe the next person who asks me to restore old family quilts is going to have to 'talk to the hand'. I'm done.
I have cut out 22 pillowcases and I'm in the burrito stage of putting those together. They really freed up some room on my fabric shelves. I need to do this periodically....

I am back from my chilly trip to Alaska.. Fairbanks was at -25 when I got there. That is a shock to the system!! Then Anchorage was hovering around 0 and on up to 15 degrees, so down right balmy!
Alas, i didn't get any time to stop in any of the quilt shops, all I managed was a quick stop to the Wild Berry Store where I picked up a couple pounds of dark chocolate covered gummy bears.. They are sooo good!!
tomorrow I will be working on several blocks and hope to get some pictures soon!
