Congratulations, JayneW. It’s important work that makes a big difference in the young people’s lives.

It was a new position for me this year and a nice change of pace after teaching high school math for 15 years. But I have found that I really miss having contact with kids. So, next year I will be the director of program in our district designed for students who have dropped out (or are on the verge of) to come back and finish up their credits and receive their diploma. I'm really looking forward to the new challenge. I went and visited my new classrooms today and decided the walls are really boring... maybe I'll have to make a quilt to hang up!!!

My next boom fabric might have to be school related!

    Congrats Jayne W!

The Places You'll Go is awesome. I gave it to my nephews when they graduated. They were suitably unimpressed. lol

High schoolers might appreciate some optical illusion type quilts like the maze one that everyone is doing, or a One Block Wonder with some 3D cubes. I'm making my son this quilt for his office wall:

And this one is pretty cool, too:

Congratulations on the new job! I bet you will really enjoy helping kids who might be struggling. Not sure I could be around "teenagers" all day every day though. I'm too set in my ways! Might come from working in a prison for 31 years and now working in a skilled nursing facility! I might have been better off if I would have worked with kids!
    Congratulations!

I agree... it takes a special person with a lot of patience to work with teenagers. That's why there is quilting to come home to!
