Nice to see you still around Billi, you are missed both in the boom and in the conversation.

Wow... so much chatter here, already! I just subscribed to this thread so I won't miss any more.

So exciting to see the groups filling up... and so cool to have some of our lurkers jumping on board this time! Welcome! You'll have a blast and get hooked, too.

Klaws and Billi, we will miss you, but moving house is such a big deal. Totally understandable why you can't sew right now. Please hang out and chat, tho.

Here is a brown based quilt that I made from my local quilter's swap:

It might be hard to see in the photo, but my focus fabric has a brown background.

I have my fabrics for one group all ready to mail... just pondering what I want to send for the other group.

I finished a quilt recently w/ a lot of browns, but not a sampler type (boom type)

and one several years ago also not sampler type

Jaba's owl fabric a few booms back I think was brown based (her requested fabrics)

I have to prewash my fabrics and get them cut, but I have them picked out:

I plan to make some of my packets with the navy and some with the orange. All packets will include the yellow dots. I am such a sucker for mustard yellow and orange.

D Henson This will be my third boom. The first boom I sent Day of the Dead dancing skeleton fabric with no specific requests except to match the fabric. The three quilts I’m going to make from these blocks will be wild indeed.

the 2nd boom I sent much more specific instructions. I sent Hawaiian fabric with flip flops on it and a companion yellow fabric and instructions to use the only colors (red orange) in a third fAbric that I included a small piece of in the package. This quilt will have a much more unified look. I thought the person who was going to get this quilt would be happier with that. Btw the piece of yellow piece of fabric I included was 13 x13 so boomers could use it as a background for appliqué. but the 2nd piece can be any size you want.

sewbiz girl many times sends everybody different fabrics from a collection.

It it depends what you want. Allowing only your fabric and one other color really limits the block patterns though. People tend to throw in white or black.

Have fun with it. I haven’t seen a bad quilt yet from these swaps.

Some of us are safely in the box. Some play around the edges of the box. Some are outside the box. And some didn't even know there was a box. But in the end it all seems to come together and make awesome quilts.

Thanks mjp. I agree with you about the quilts from these swaps. I stared at the gallery for a long time and I am pretty sure this is what my face looked like . All of them are so beautiful and it's extra special because they are made by so many people.

Kassaundra, It will be up to Janice to decide your fate of orange or navy . Let's hope you get the one you want!
