I get that, Joanelizbay. My sis and I were our grandmother’s last grandchildren. We had sleepovers all the time and we loved every minute she spent with us and she loved having us as often as possible. She was already in her late 80s by then and died when I was 10. But I remember those good times even to this day. I’m so glad your 5 yo g’son will still have those weekend sleepovers with you.

So last night was the final overnight unless its a weekend date night...makes me sad. Its so much fun to have him there and teach him to cook and plant flowers and just snuggle and hes started wanting to see all my fabric......It will be kind of lonely without him...The other 3 are too "old" for grandmas house they think! LOL Enjoy them while they are young...like little sponges!!

Thank you for the pretty churn dash block, darcyshannon. Yes it will definitely have a place in the quilt!

Joan, sorry you are missing your little grandson. But he will have all his kindergarten adventures to share with you when you get together again. He's growing up. That is such a great age. You are right... they are like little sponges, taking everything in. I'm looking forward to seeing life through two sets of brand new eyes.

Jaba, I hope the radiation is going well this week with no burns. You're almost done!

Thank you Janice...I remember my grandmothers but never knew my grandfathers...Special memories for sure!!
I picked up the 2 older boys from football practice yesterday and oh my I can tell they are growing up...they had a horrible sweaty odor!! LOL...Told them they "Stink" LOL....Ill be glad when their first game is, even though they wont play much they still are part of the team. Last year Conner won the "coachs award" for never missing a practice or game and always doing what the coaches asked...that was more important than any skill award I think!! I wonder why I get so teary eyed when I brag on my gkids??

I came home from the lake Sunday night and Monday received call asking if I could take granddaughter to a 90 minute orthodontist appt. today at 4. Putting us in rush hour both ways. A normal 20 minute ride will take over an hour each way. They are adding on her bottom braces on and she to be out of pain before starting at a new high school. Sure can understand that. Don’t miss those days

Youre a kind grandmother to take your gd to her appointment knowing it’s going to be a real pain, for her and for you. I’m sure she’ll be happy when the process is over.

I wanted share the blue and white quilt that we made for my 96 year old mother.
She really loved the quilt. My husband said it’s my best FMQ ever. He didn’t want me to give it away until he heard it was for Mom. Thank you ladies I couldn’t have made such a great quilt on my own. I used Maude’s setting.

Here is a pictures of Daecyshannon and I at the Sisters quilt show. I really enjoyed spending time with Darcy. I learned so much and had such good quilt discussions with her. Very Fun. 95 degrees. I was proud of our stamina, walking all over the town although we did take off our shoes and put our feet in the fountain! Thank you Darcy for making the big drive to meet me. Darcy is on the left. The blue pictures were a Van Gogh challenge.

Sewbiz congrats on the grand babies, I’ll be living vicariously through you. Kass amazing quilt in progress. Jaba I’ve been thinking of you. Hope everyone is enjoying the end of summer.

DH and I spent 4 weeks traveling in our kluged up van through Ca, Oregon and Washington. Then headed back east for 2 1/2 weeks to build a wall in daughters Omaha house, visit mom in NY and sister in Indiana. Got some row by rows and fabric for the next boom. Can’t wait to play again.
